Preachers’ Network

The Timothy Trust is excited to introduce our Preachers’ Network—an online resource designed to bridge the gap in Canada between preachers and congregations looking for faithful teaching.

As part of our mission for the revitalization of the Canadian church, the Timothy Trust is starting an initiative to provide an accessible database of expository Bible preachers in Canada who are open to serving in empty pulpits and to fill in for pastors while they are away.

How it works.

People within the Timothy Trust network across Canada have joined this database. Churches can use this database to personally contact someone in their area for supply preaching. The database is sorted by geographical location.

Randall Palmer - Preachers' Network
  • Former journalist and semi-retired civil servant, I am passionate about opening -- expounding -- the Word of life to the people of our region. I try to make the meaning of the text plain, and point to Jesus; and also make it clear to the listeners from the top what my aim is for them. I try to understand the audience ahead of time and am sensitive to those who are questioning or struggling, while also trying to build up those who are strong. I am an elder in my local church, and preach from time to time there and elsewhere.

Matt is married to Rachel, and they have four children. He enjoys hockey, baseball, golf, being outdoors, road trips, and reading about history. Jacob Gebrewold - Preachers' Network
  • I was raised by incredible Ethiopian refugees. They didn't teach me the gospel, but they sponsored our relatives who loved Jesus. I didn't know it, but those relatives prayed for me constantly. I was saved as an adult because of those prayers. My preaching style mixes my background as an oratory instructor (debate and spoken word poetry), marketplace minister (I work in software sales), and church worker (Northview intern, TriCity staff, Christ City elder-in-training). My biggest influences are Piper and Keller. My prayer in preaching is to be faithful, helpful and worshipful in living out 2 Cor 3:18-4:6.

FAQs

  • If you are interested in being a part of the Timothy Trust’s Preachers’ Network, we encourage you to fill in the following application. After that, a member of our team will contact you.

  • Yes! All people in the Preachers’ Network agree with the following Statement of Faith and will endeavour to preach in a manner that exemplifies the doctrines laid out.

    The Timothy Trust Statement of Faith

    We believe in:

    • the unity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit in the Godhead;

    • the sovereignty of God in creation, revelation, redemption and final judgement;

    • the divine inspiration, infallibility and inerrancy of Holy Scripture as originally given, and its supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct;

    • the universal sinfulness and guilt of human nature since the fall, rendering humanity subject to God’s wrath and condemnation;

    • the full deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God; his virgin birth and his real and sinless humanity; his death on the cross, his bodily resurrection and his present heavenly session;

    • redemption from the guilt, penalty and power of sin only through the sacrificial death once and for all time of our representative and substitute, Jesus Christ, the only mediator between God and man;

    • justification as God’s act of undeserved mercy, in which the sinner is pardoned all sins, and accepted as righteous in God’s sight, only because of the imputation of the righteousness of Christ, this justification being received by faith alone;

    • the need for the Holy Spirit to make the work of Christ effective to the individual sinner, granting repentance toward God and faith in Jesus Christ;

    • the indwelling of the Holy Spirit in all those thus regenerated, producing in them an increasing likeness to Christ in character and behaviour, and empowering them for their witness in the world;

    • the creation of both man and woman in the image of God, both equal in dignity and worth as true image-bearers, but distinct as man and woman in biology and gender, and in certain roles within the family and the church;

    • the sanctity and uniqueness of marriage as the lifelong, covenantal union between one biological man and one biological woman and as the sole appropriate context for sexual relations;

    • the one holy universal Church, which is the Body of Christ, and to which all true believers belong;

    • the future personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge all people, executing God’s just condemnation to hell on the impenitent and receiving the redeemed to eternal glory.
