The Timothy Course

Equipping you with tools for accurate Bible interpretation and faithful Bible proclamation.

The Timothy Course is a weekly, seminary-level training opportunity for both men and women. Second Timothy 2:2 is a charge directed toward preachers of the Bible to train up other preachers of the Bible. Paul tasks Timothy by saying, “what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.” This is the motivation and purpose for the Timothy Course.

What will you learn?

The course is designed to equip people with tools for accurate Bible interpretation and faithful Bible proclamation. It is also designed to develop some of the philosophical and practical skills needed for the complexities of handling the Scriptures with the opportunity to demonstrate those skills you have acquired. The course content will examine various models of interpretation of the gospel, articulation of the gospel, and Christ-centred, expository preaching of the gospel. A significant amount of time and effort will focus on exploring the various genres of Scripture and the interpretative principles that accompany each of them. Students will also be exposed to various doctrines, Bible books, and more.
