Jonathan Griffiths

Founder and Executive Director

Jonathan Griffiths serves as Lead Pastor at The Metropolitan Bible Church. Before coming to Ottawa, he served on the staff of the Proclamation Trust in London, England, where he was involved in preparing men and women for gospel ministry through the Cornhill Training Course. He studied theology at Oxford and Cambridge universities and is the author of a number of books – most recently, God Alone: His Unique Attributes and How Knowing Them Changes Us (Moody Publishers, 2023).

Jonathan is a member of the Council of the Gospel Coalition Canada. He sees The Timothy Trust as a vital part of our service to the wider church in Canada, and longs that the Lord might use it to raise up workers for the harvest field in our land. He likes to keep up to date with current events, enjoys history, and, out of sheer necessity, has recently taken up gardening. He and his wife, Gemma, have three young children.

Adam Callaway

Director of Ministry

Adam has been pastoring in various capacities at the Metropolitan Bible Church in Ottawa since 2018 and currently serves as the director of their Internship Training Program. He is a native of Chicago, IL in the western suburb of Wheaton. He studied Economics at Wheaton College for his undergraduate degree and holds a Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Adam also writes for The Gospel Coalition Canada. He enjoys basketball, golf, and Mexican food. He and his wife, Lindsay, have three young children.

Isaiah Pearce

Administration and Communications Coordinator

Isaiah has lived in Ottawa for the entirety of his life, and attended the Met since he was very young. He has studied Digital Marketing and Communications, and been working with the Timothy Trust since 2023.

Bob Shaver

Bob has lived in Ottawa his entire life. Over this time he has served at the Metropolitan Bible Church as an elder, Leading Alpha Classes, Newly Married and Adult ministries, and more. He has also been involved in a number of para-church ministries related to the Christian Business Community, a Theological Teaching Centre in a financial role, Children’s Camps, Homeless Shelters and a Charitable Foundation.

He works in the financial industry as a CPA and is Married to Linda (39 years) and has 3 married children who are committed to Christ and 9 grandchildren. Bob is wholly devoted to Christ and the growth of his church.

Mario Grenier

Mario grew up in Gatineau, QC all of his life. At the age of 24, he heard the Gospel message for the first time. After reading the Word of God for many weeks, God opened his eyes to see the gravity of sins and his need for a Saviour. In September 1984, the Lord Jesus Christ became the Saviour and Master of his life.

Mario presently working for Employment and Social Development Canada as IT Team leader. He is responsible for the team that supports the Canada Pension Plan (CPP)

Mario is married to Nicole since 1982 and together they have 2 sons and 4 grandsons. Mario attends the Gatineau Baptist church for over 20 years and the Met Bible Church for 17 years.

Over the Year, Mario was responsible for bible study in a small group. He loves the Word of God and his greatest desire is to see the church coming together to study the bible.

Richard Agnew

Richard was born and raised in Dungannon, Northern Ireland. He has spent over fifteen years in pastoral ministry in Prince Edward Island and Ontario. He and his wife Jennifer have four young boys (Sam, Callum, Theo, and Owen). Richard came to faith in Christ during his second year of college in Edinburgh, Scotland. Rich worked for 9 years as a physiotherapist before pursuing the call God placed on his heart to enter pastoral ministry. He is a graduate of Grace Theological Seminary, Regent College, and Acadia Divinity College. He is also an Arrow Leader.

Richard is responsible for guiding the preaching, vision, and mission of Calvary Baptist Church, and has a passion for discipleship and life-long learning. He loves to read, follows rugby and soccer (an Ulster, Ireland & Manchester United fan respectively), and golfs a wee bit.

George Sinclair

George is currently Lead Pastor Church of the Messiah. Principal of Ryle Seminary. Founding Board member of The Gospel Coalition Canada. He is married to Louise and has nine children, seven of them married, and many grandchildren.

George studied at the undergraduate and graduate level at Carleton University where he received a degree in Sociology with a minor in Philosophy. He studied Theology and Pastoral Counselling at St. Paul University where he completed an MA in Pastoral Studies.

George was ordained in 1985. For 22 years he served in the Anglican Church of Canada (ACoC). In 2008 his church was the second church in the country to separate from the ACoC and join the Anglican Network in Canada (ANiC). George has served in a suburban and in a rural “multi-point” church.

Morris Repeta

Morris was born and raised in Montreal where he came to know the Lord. He has been living in Ottawa for more than 30 years and is currently attending the Metropolitan Bible Church where he has served as a small group leader, as a member of the Missions committee and as an elder. Morris has been married to Helene for more than 35 years and they have two wonderful sons. He has worked in high-tech since graduating from university. Morris believes in strong, rigorous biblical teachings for the edification of Christ’s church.

Brian Relph

Brian became a follower of Christ as a young teen at a Billy Graham Mission and this was the foundation for his path of pursuing Christ and cherishing His Word. After marrying Ellen, his soul mate, his career led him to senior executive positions at Shoppers Drug Mart.

While attending the Metropolitan Bible Church, Brian developed a lifelong passion for world missions. Brian and Ellen established a foundation rooted in the Great Commission and Christ’s active compassion for the suffering, the persecuted and the marginalized. They travelled to many countries in this missional work. Brian served as board chair of The Peoples Church, Toronto, and on the board of the EFC and other missional organizations. They are an active part of NewCity Church in Newmarket, with its rich emphasis on expository preaching.
