Jonathan Griffiths

Jonathan Griffiths serves as Lead Pastor of the Metropolitan Bible Church in Ottawa, Canada, sits on the Council of the Gospel Coalition Canada, and gives leadership to the Timothy Trust, which exists to promote expository Bible ministry. He loves to train and mentor developing leaders for gospel ministry. Jonathan studied theology at the University of Oxford and completed his PhD on Hebrews at the University of Cambridge. He takes a keen interest in current affairs, not least politics and economics. He and his wife, Gemma, have three children.

Jeff Bucknam

Lead Pastor of Vision and Teaching, Harvest Bible Chapel. Jeff served for many years as pastor of Northview Community Church before his calling to Harvest. He holds a double B.A. in history and communications from Western Washington University, an M. Th. from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a D. Min. from Talbot School of Theology. Previously, he taught at Pathways College in Auckland, New Zealand. He also held a Teaching Pastor position at Hope Community Church in Nelson, New Zealand. Pastor Jeff will bring a passion for God’s Word, a love for God’s people, and a desire to train leaders and send them out for expanded gospel ministry. His commitment is to the expository preaching of God’s Word. He has a podcast, Conversations with Jeff Bucknam hosted by Pastor Tommy Creutz.

John Neufeld

Dr. John Neufeld is the national Bible teacher at Back to the Bible Canada. He has served as Senior Pastor, church planter, conference speaker and educator, and is known both nationally and internationally for his passion and excellence in expositional preaching and teaching.

Simon Manchester

Simon served as a pastor from 1980-2020 and retired from St. Thomas North Sydney after 30 years of faithful ministry. In that time it was his privilege to teach God’s Word and take up opportunities more widely around Australia and in various places around the world. He has spoken at Katoomba conferences, Keswick conventions, Timothy Trust conferences in Canada, and has ministered to pastors in the UK and the USA. He has recently been working part time at a local church, and continues in his work with Cornhill Sydney in helping students handle God’s Word expositionally. He is married to Kathy and they have three adult children and two grandchildren. Simon is author of several books, including the 2016 Keswick Book of the year, “Becoming Like God’s Son” and contributed to a book on preparation for expository preaching called, “Unashamed Workmen.”


About the Conference:

We are very excited for Northview Community Church to host our first ever Western National Conference with Jeff Bucknam, John Neufeld, Simon Manchester and Jonathan Griffiths. This conference looks to refresh and encourage Bible teachers and preachers through model expository preaching by our keynote speakers. This year’s conference will focus on the task of expository preaching and presenting ourselves as workers approved by God who rightly handle the Word of Truth (2 Timothy 2:15).

FAQs:

  • This conference is open to both men and women. There is a specific aim to encourage Bible teachers at any stage, whether in the home or on Sunday morning. We want to encourage current and aspiring Bible teachers.

    An example of someone who can attend would be a lay or vocational elder, a small group leader, a person in vocational ministry, a ministry leader, a missionary, a pastor, a seminary student, a university or college student, and/or a church congregant.

  • The conference will be two half days and one full day. A detailed schedule will be provided at a later date.

  • Yes, meals will be provided for the Regular Rate, Group Rate, and Student Rate.

    Snack and beverage kiosks will also be provided for all attendees. Kiosk locations will be available throughout the main level of the venue.
